When working with clients or meeting customers, I noticed many of them had one thing in common—they lacked knowledge about how to care for their skin. It became important for me to offer accurate information so my clients could feel confident in their skin, even without makeup. In 2016, I attended the Aveda Institute and became a state-licensed esthetician the following year. A few years after my licensing, I had the opportunity to work for a local lash bar, which gave me my footing in the industry, as well as with amazing companies like Dermalogica and The Benefit Brow Bar. When I started working in the beauty industry in 2017, I realized that the makeup you wear, the number of high-end products you buy, and following trends don’t define who you are. The more I worked with clients, the more I saw a growing need for self-confidence that lasted long after the products were removed.

As I matured as a woman and professional, I learned that I could face the world without feeling like I had to "put on a face" (literally and figuratively). I realized that any look I created was an expression of my personality, not a mask. I wanted to help others feel the same way without compromising who they truly are.

Life changes and the pandemic caused a pause in my career, but in 2023, God allowed me to step into my passion and the plans He has for me. Stepping out in faith, I created One You Studio. My goal is to ensure that every client feels valued and leaves my studio with a renewed sense of confidence and self-love. We specialize in permanent makeup and a variety of brow services designed to enhance your natural beauty.

and I’m the creator and owner of One You Studio. Originally from Maryland, I’ve been a Birmingham resident for 14 years! Like many young girls, I played with my mother’s makeup when she wasn’t looking, used the cheap, waxy, kid-friendly makeup kits from the grocery store toy section, and created skincare concoctions by mixing products I found around the house (that belonged to my parents). I also had a passion for art and spent much of my time drawing and painting. As a teenager, I experimented with different makeup trends I saw online. I struggled with my own insecurities, but applying makeup and exploring beauty gave me a sense of self and boosted my confidence in facing the world. At nineteen, I decided I wanted to be part of the beauty industry and enrolled in an online beauty school to become a certified makeup artist.
