BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Do NOT consume caffeine (coffee, tea), alcohol, or any blood-thinning medications or supplements. Please read the health pre-checklist if you’re unsure.
Do not wax or remove any natural brow hairs before your appointment. I will take care of them for you during your consultation and brow appointment.
Do not wear any makeup around your brow area before your appointment.
Do not use any skin products with strong active ingredients before your appointment. (Ex. Retinol should’ve stopped 1-2 weeks prior)
Please set aside 2-4 hours for your appointment to avoid rushing. I pay close attention to detail and take my time during appointments to ensure the best results.
HEALING PROCESS
Healing time typically ranges from 1 to 4 weeks, though this can vary from person to person. Infection risk is minimal if aftercare instructions are followed properly. Remember not to touch your freshly tattooed brows without washing your hands first, as this can introduce bacteria to open skin and lead to infection.
During the healing process, you may notice scabbing on your brows. This is a normal response to any trauma that causes a wound, such as a scratch. The scabbing is part of your body’s natural healing process and may cause your brows to appear slightly darker initially.
DO NOT PICK THE SCAB! Allow it to fall off naturally. Picking the scab prematurely can lead to infection, disrupt the healing process, and potentially affect the color of your newly done brows. If you have any concerns, please contact your permanent makeup artist before attempting any self-treatment.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
Your brows will be dark- you just had pigment implanted into the skin. I know this is shocking. However, as we discussed before, you must trust the process and follow proper aftercare.
1 HOUR AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
Gently cleanse your brows with a mild unscented cleanser, pat dry with a paper towel, and apply a rice grain size of ointment to each brow. Repeat this every 3 hours until your nighttime routine. Remember that with continued care and cleansing, any scabbing will fall off on its own.
AFTER 48 HOURS
Avoid the gym or any physical activity that would cause you to sweat. Do not take hot showers, swim in bodies of water like a pool or hot tub, and avoid direct sunlight.
AFTER 1 WEEK
Gently cleanse your brows with a mild unscented or gentle cleanser, pat dry, and apply the recommended ointment (rice grain or pea size). Try and do this three times a day.
After 2-3 weeks, remember not to expose your face to direct sunlight, steam (super hot showers or saunas), or extreme exfoliation (face scrubs, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, retinol, chemical peels, etc.). Avoid swimming in large bodies of water (pools, hot tubs, lakes). Continue gentle cleansing morning and night and continue using your ointment until fully healed.
Most importantly, trust the process and follow proper aftercare to help with your body’s natural healing process.
